SawlineFeet Inches Calculator

RipeSeed / Terms of Service

Terms of Service

EFFECTIVE 11 AUGUST 2026LAST UPDATED 23 SEPTEMBER 2026VERSION 1.2

These terms are the agreement between you and RipeSeed for both of our apps, Sawline and RawMath. The part that matters most is section 6: each of them is a calculator, and a calculator does not know what you are building. Check its output before you cut, pour or buy.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and RipeSeed LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Delaware, United States ("RipeSeed", "we", "us"). They cover both of our construction calculator apps, Sawline (feet and inches) and RawMath (concrete), this website, and anything we supply with them (together, the "App"). Almost everything here applies to both. Where a section applies to only one of them, it says which. By downloading, installing or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

You can reach us at sawline@ripeseed.io for Sawline, or support@ripeseed.io for RawMath, about anything in these Terms. Both mailboxes reach the same people.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own purposes — including commercial use in your trade or business. You may use it on a jobsite, in an office, and in front of a client.

We license the App to you. We do not sell it to you. The full unlock is a licence to use the software, and everything not expressly granted here is reserved.

3. What you may not do

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App, or host it as a service
  • Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice
  • Circumvent the trial period, the unlock, or any entitlement check
  • Use the App to build a competing product, or extract its constant tables, rule sets or content in bulk for that purpose
  • Use the App in any way that breaks the law where you are

4. Trial, free tier, paying

Both apps are free to start, and neither asks you to sign up for anything. What the trial measures and what you can buy differ between them, so they are set out separately.

Sawline

  • The trial, one per calculator. Each of the three calculators, area, roof and stairs, starts with a guided walkthrough, and the walkthrough is its free trial. When a calculator's walkthrough ends, or you skip it, that calculator locks. There is no card, no account and nothing to opt into.
  • After the trial. A locked calculator stays locked until you buy. There is no free tier: Settings, the walkthroughs and the tape you have already written stay available, and nothing else does.
  • The full unlock. Opens all three calculators. It is sold as a one-time Lifetime purchase, which unlocks everything permanently, including future versions of the App, or as a yearly or monthly auto-renewing subscription, each of which starts with a free trial whose length the store shows you before you confirm. A subscription renews until you cancel it, and you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account rather than with us. There are no tiers and no modules to buy separately.

The subscription does not change what a Lifetime purchase is. Anyone who has bought the Lifetime unlock keeps the functionality they paid for, permanently, at no further cost. That is a commitment in these Terms, not just an intention.

RawMath

  • The trial. Fifteen calculations, or two days once you have made at least ten, whichever comes first. Everything is unlocked while it lasts. There is no card and no account, and the trial never turns itself into a paid subscription.
  • After the trial, the free tier. Five calculations a day, permanently and without ads. Pours, jobs and history you have already saved stay on your device and stay readable whether or not you ever pay.
  • Pro. Unlimited calculations, and creating and editing jobs. Pro is sold as a weekly, monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. A subscription renews until you cancel it, and you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account rather than with us.

Lifetime does not cancel a subscription you already hold. Neither store gives an app a way to do that, so if you buy Lifetime while subscribed, cancel the subscription yourself in your store account or you will keep being charged for it. The App warns you about this at the point of purchase.

You can restore a previous purchase without an account and without contacting us. If a restore fails, email us — that is a bug on our side, and we will fix it.

5. Payment and refunds

Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, not through us. The price shown in the store at the time of purchase, in your own currency, is the price that applies. We may change our prices for future purchasers; that never affects a purchase you have already made. A subscription price change is handled by the store, which asks you to agree to it before it takes effect, and you can cancel instead.

We cannot issue refunds. We never receive your payment and have no mechanism to return it. Refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own policies, and requests must go to them. If you are in a jurisdiction with a statutory cooling-off or cancellation right, that right is unaffected by this paragraph, and we will support your claim with the store if you ask.

6. Accuracy and professional judgment

Read this section even if you skip the rest. It describes what the App is for and what it is not for.

The App is a calculator, not a designer or an engineer

Both apps perform arithmetic and geometry on values you enter, using formulas and constants that are documented in the App. Neither inspects your site, knows your soil, sees your existing structure, or understands the intent of your drawings. Sawline solves single members: one rafter, one hip, one stringer, one flight. RawMath works out the volume of a shape you have described and what it would cost to fill, and it does not size reinforcement, specify a mix or schedule a pour. Neither models a whole building or the interaction between its parts.

Every result is yours to check

You are responsible for verifying every result before relying on it, and for exercising your own professional judgment. The App is a tool that supports your expertise; it does not replace it, and it does not replace a licensed architect, engineer, surveyor or building official where one is required. Do not cut material, pour concrete, order quantities, price a job or file a submission on the basis of an App result you have not checked.

Where results come from

  • Your inputs. The App cannot detect a mistyped dimension, a wrong pitch or the wrong unit. A wrong input produces a confidently wrong output.
  • Rounding and display. Results are displayed at the resolution you choose, from 1/2 to 1/64. Values that cannot be expressed exactly are marked ≈. A displayed value is a rounded value, and cumulative work at a coarse resolution accumulates error.
  • Preprogrammed constants and material data. These are provided for convenience with their source and retrieval date shown, and you can override any of them. They may be superseded, may not match your supplier, and may not match the specification for your job. Manufacturer figures and our own estimates are marked differently — check which one you are relying on. Verify against your actual materials and your actual supplier.
  • Keystroke procedures and methods of operation. How the App is operated, and the order in which values are entered, are provided as described in the in-app help. We do not warrant that any particular sequence produces a result fit for your purpose.

Estimates are estimates

Material quantities, waste allowances and costs are approximations for planning. Actual requirements vary with site conditions, delivery, cutting patterns, breakage and workmanship. Do not treat a takeoff as a purchase order.

7. Building codes and standards

The App can check stair geometry against a ruleset you select, and print the section number it applied. This is a geometric check of the numbers you entered. It is not a code review, not a compliance certificate, and not a substitute for your local building official, whose determination governs.

Codes and standards are amended, adopted differently by different jurisdictions, and frequently modified locally. It is your responsibility to know and apply the code in force where you are working, including any local amendment. Rulesets in the App may lag the current edition.

Code and standards tables are copyrighted by their publishers and are not reproduced in the App. References to a code section are factual citations for your convenience; they do not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or licence from the publisher of that code.

8. Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. We specifically disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects; that its calculations, constants or rulesets are accurate, complete or current; or that it will meet your requirements or be suitable for any particular project.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, your statutory rights in respect of digital content stand in full.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contract, goodwill, data, or anticipated saving, arising out of or connected with your use of or inability to use the App — including material wasted, work rebuilt, delay, rework, rejected inspection, or property damage resulting from a result you did not verify — whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or connected with the App is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid for the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or twenty-five US dollars (USD 25).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use of the App in breach of these Terms or in breach of applicable law. This does not apply to consumers to the extent applicable law says otherwise.

10. Intellectual property

The App, its source code, its design, its icon, its written content, its constant database and its documentation are owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. The name Sawline, the name RawMath and our logos are our trademarks.

Your work is yours. The calculations you perform, the projects and tapes you create, and the documents you export belong to you. We claim no rights over them, and we do not receive them.

The App includes third-party open-source components under their own licences, including the Barlow Condensed and Space Mono typefaces under the SIL Open Font License. Those licences govern those components and nothing here restricts your rights under them.

Sawline and RawMath are independent products. Neither is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any other calculator manufacturer, software publisher, building-material manufacturer or code body. Where RawMath cites a bag maker's published coverage figure it does so as a source, and that is not a claim of any relationship.

11. Changes and termination

We may update the App and may change, add or remove features. We will not remove functionality you have paid for in the full unlock, except where we are legally or technically compelled to — for example by a platform requirement or an operating-system change.

We may amend these Terms. If a change is material we will give notice in the App or on this site before it takes effect, and continuing to use the App after that means you accept the amended Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the App; if you bought the unlock and a material change is unacceptable to you, contact us.

You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10 and 14 survive termination.

12. Apple-specific terms

These terms apply if you obtained the App from the Apple App Store.

  • This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Your licence to use the App is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Support is our responsibility, at sawline@ripeseed.io.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the App infringes that party's intellectual property.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Google Play

If you obtained the App from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. This agreement is between you and us, not with Google. Google is not responsible for the App, and is not a party to these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or connected with these Terms, and you and we each consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Consumers in the EU can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it is severed and the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor to our business. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the App and replace any earlier understanding.
