Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE 11 AUGUST 2026LAST UPDATED 23 SEPTEMBER 2026VERSION 1.4

Neither of our apps asks who you are, and neither has a way of finding out. This policy covers both, Sawline and RawMath; where they differ, it says which. There is no account and no sign-in in either, and neither shows you an ad. Sawline does measure which of our own ads bring people to it, which section 4 lists field by field and which iOS asks you about first. Your calculations stay on your device, and so does anything the apps save, such as RawMath's pours and jobs. None of it is sent to us. This website is the one exception, and section 8 sets out exactly what it records and what it never touches.

1. The short version

The whole calculator runs on your device and works with the network switched off. Nothing you type into it is sent anywhere. We do not operate a server that holds your data, because there is no such server.

Four things do leave your device, and all four are described in full in section 4.

The first is buying the app. That transaction is handled by Apple or Google, and we use a purchase-management service to tell your device what you are entitled to. It carries an anonymous identifier and a receipt — not your name, your email or your calculations.

The second is measurement. The app reports anonymous usage and crash data so that we can see how many people keep using it, what breaks, and whether the walkthroughs lead anyone to buy. It carries counts, screen names and an identifier your device generates for itself. It does not carry your measurements, your project or client names, your tapes or your exported files, and there is no code in the app that would send them. Nothing in it names you. On Android it includes the device's advertising ID, which we use to tell which ads bring installs that people actually keep using — you can reset or switch that ID off in Android's own settings, and there is no equivalent on iOS.

The third is advertising measurement, and it is Sawline only, from version 1.2.2. Sawline runs ads on Facebook and Instagram, and it tells Meta when an install or a purchase came from one of them. That is the only thing either app does that counts as tracking under Apple's rules. On iOS nothing of it is sent before you answer the tracking prompt; decline and no advertising identifier is shared, and iOS blocks the connection that would carry it. On a phone set to European time nothing is sent at all without a yes, on either platform: the app asks first, and on iOS the tracking prompt follows only a yes. Everywhere else the app tells you about this once, before any of it starts. RawMath does none of this.

The fourth is a token for notifications, also Sawline only, from version 1.2.2. It lets us send an occasional notification when something new comes to the app, and it carries nothing about you. None appears unless you allow it.

2. Who we are

Sawline and RawMath are both published by RipeSeed LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Delaware, United States ("RipeSeed", "we", "us").

For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, RipeSeed LLC is the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy.

Questions about this policy — including any request to exercise a right under section 10 — go to sawline@ripeseed.io for Sawline, or support@ripeseed.io for RawMath. Either mailbox is monitored and reaches the same people; use whichever you like.

3. What stays on your device

The app saves your working to local storage on your phone or tablet, inside the app's own private storage area. Other apps cannot read it. We cannot read it. It contains:

  • Your settings — in Sawline, theme, display resolution, units and the chosen code ruleset; in RawMath, units, the default waste percentage, bag size, your ready-mix and per-bag rates, and whether analytics are on
  • RawMath's jobs, its saved pours, and its history of the last fifty calculations. Sawline no longer saves projects; any that an older version saved stay on the device, unread, and are never sent anywhere
  • Any corrections you make to the built-in material constants
  • The trial and entitlement state — the date the app first launched on this device, what you have unlocked, and in Sawline which calculators' walkthroughs have ended
  • In Sawline, how far you are through each walkthrough, and counts of launches and of the days the app was opened, which decide when it asks for a rating

None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is included in your device's normal encrypted backup if you have iCloud Backup or Google backup switched on; that backup is between you and Apple or Google, and is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.

When you export the plain-text summary of a pour or a job from RawMath, the text is produced on your device and handed to the system share sheet. You choose where it goes. It does not pass through us. Sawline has no export.

4. What we receive

Three things, and they are separate. Buying is described first; then the usage and crash reporting that runs in ordinary use; then the advertising measurement Sawline added in version 1.2.2, which RawMath does not have. None of the three carries anything you typed into the calculator.

Buying, and restoring a purchase

When you buy the app — Sawline's one-time unlock or its yearly or monthly subscription, or one of RawMath's subscriptions or its one-time Lifetime — or restore a previous purchase, the following happens. The payment itself is taken by Apple or Google; we never see your card, your billing address or your store account details.

What Why Who gets it
A randomly generated, anonymous app-user ID To tie your unlock to your device without knowing who you are. It is not derived from your name, email, phone number or any advertising identifier Our purchase-management provider
The store's purchase receipt or token To verify with Apple or Google that the purchase is genuine, and to restore it if you reinstall or change device Our purchase-management provider, then Apple or Google
Basic technical facts — platform, OS version, app version, store country, device model To apply the right price and the right entitlement rules, and to diagnose a failed purchase Our purchase-management provider
The date this anonymous ID was first seen One of the two anchors for RawMath's trial clock, two days once you have made ten calculations, and for the install date Sawline counts days from, so that setting the device clock backwards changes neither. Sawline's trial is its walkthroughs, not days Our purchase-management provider

That is the complete list for a purchase.

Usage and crash reporting

The app uses Firebase — Google's — for three things: counting whether people come back, reporting crashes, and timing how long the app takes to start. It is on from first launch. In RawMath you can switch it off, under Settings, and nothing in this table is sent after you do. Sawline has no such switch at the moment; if that changes, this paragraph changes with it. Here is everything it sends while it is on.

What Why Who gets it
An app instance ID your device generates for itself So that one returning phone counts as one person rather than as a new one every launch. It is not derived from your name, email, phone number or any advertising identifier, and it is discarded when you uninstall Google (Firebase)
Which day of the trial you are on, and whether you are on the trial, the permanent free tier, or a paid plan To answer how many people keep using the app after the trial ends. That is the question the free tier exists to answer, and we could not answer it before Google (Firebase)
How many days in a row you have opened it, as a band — 3–6, 7–13, 14–29, 30+ — never the exact number To tell a tool someone reaches for daily from one they opened twice. The count is kept on your device; only the band is sent Google (Firebase)
The name of the screen you are on, and named events with no free text: a purchase, a cancelled purchase, a restore, an export, the paywall shown To see which parts of the app get used, and where a purchase fails. The export event records that a file was made and its format — never the file Google (Firebase)
Crashes and caught errors: the stack trace, device model, OS version, and the last few screen names you were on To find and fix what breaks, including failures the app hides from you Google (Firebase)
Standard technical data the Firebase SDK collects on its own: platform, OS version, app version, device model, store country, language To tell an iPhone crash from an Android one, and an old version from a new one Google (Firebase)
On iOS only: the Apple Search Ads campaign that led to the download, if an Apple ad did To know which advertising is worth paying for. This is Apple's AdServices token. It names a campaign, not a person, it is not the IDFA, and it needs no permission of its own — it is sent whatever you answer to the tracking prompt below Our purchase-management provider
On Android only: the device's advertising ID, unless you have switched it off The same job the Apple token does on iOS — knowing which advertising is worth paying for. It is a device-level ID you control: Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Ads lets you reset it or delete it, and deleting it stops this Google (Firebase, Google Ads)

Advertising measurement, Sawline only

Sawline runs ads on Facebook and Instagram. From version 1.2.2 it carries Meta's measurement kit so that an ad we paid for can be matched to the install and the purchase that followed it, and so that we stop paying for the ads that produce neither. Meta uses what it receives to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads, as its own terms describe. To opt out of that targeting: on iOS answer No to the tracking prompt or switch it off under Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking; on Android reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings; and in Meta's Accounts Center, turn off Your activity off Meta technologies and review your Ad preferences. This is the part that counts as tracking under Apple's rules, and nothing in the table below is recorded or sent until first run is over: until the app has shown a notice about it, or on a phone set to European time until you have said yes to the question it asks; and on iOS, until you have also answered the tracking prompt in section 7. On iOS, Meta's kit is part of the app and wakes with it, so it asks Meta for its own settings at launch; that request carries no event and nothing about you. It is not in RawMath.

What Why Who gets it
That the app was installed and opened, with an anonymous ID Meta's kit generates for this install, and the device's advertising identifier when you have allowed it To match an install to the ad that led to it. On iOS the advertising identifier is included only if you answered Yes to the tracking prompt; answer No and it is withheld, iOS blocks the connection to Meta, and the install is counted only in aggregate. On Android the identifier is the one in the table above, which Android's settings reset or delete Meta
That a free trial started, a subscription started or renewed, or the lifetime unlock was bought, with the amount and the currency To match a purchase, not only an install, to the ad that led to it — which is what decides where the advertising money goes next. These are sent by our purchase-management provider from its own servers rather than by the app, so a renewal that happens while the app is shut is counted too. No receipt, no store account and nothing you typed goes with them Our purchase-management provider, then Meta
On iOS, the anonymous conversion value Apple's own SKAdNetwork carries back to Meta Apple's alternative to tracking: it tells the advertiser that an ad produced an install, on a delay and in a form that names no device and no person. It runs whatever you answered to the tracking prompt, because there is nothing in it to identify you with Apple, then Meta

That is the complete list. Across all three tables we receive no calculations, no dimensions, no project names, no client names, no addresses and no exported documents — the app does not have code that sends them. Every field above is a fixed label, a count, a band, an amount, or the name of a screen.

Notifications, Sawline only

From version 1.2.2, Sawline registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging, which Google runs, so that we can send an occasional notification when something new comes to the app, at most once a month. Apple or Google gives the app a push token for this, and the app passes it to Firebase. The token lets Firebase deliver a notification to this phone and nothing more. We send these notifications to groups, for example everyone who reads the app in Spanish, never to a person we can identify; the usage reporting above carries whether you have them switched on. The app asks before any appear, and Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ News from Sawline turns them off, as do your phone's own notification settings. A notification may carry a link to a web page or a store listing, which opens only if you tap it.

5. What we never do

This list describes the app. The website is a separate piece of software and is covered on its own in section 8. Until September 2026 this list also said the app contained no analytics of any kind. That stopped being true when the usage and crash reporting in section 4 was added, so the line is gone rather than quietly narrowed — the ones below are what remains, and all of them are still true.

Two more went the same way in September 2026, when Sawline began measuring its own ads. This list used to say that nothing in the app would require App Tracking Transparency consent, and that we never share personal information. The first is no longer true on iOS, and the second is now split into the two things it was covering: selling, which we still never do, and sharing for advertising, which Sawline does and which you can switch off.

  • No accounts, no sign-up, no email address required — ever, including to restore a purchase
  • No ads inside either app, and no ad network putting them there. The advertising in section 4 is ours, running on Meta's apps rather than in ours, and what reaches Meta is the measurement of it
  • No profile of you assembled out of other apps or other websites, and nothing read off your phone beyond the fields listed in section 4. RawMath asks for no tracking permission at all. Sawline asks twice at most: on a phone set to European time a question of its own, and on iOS the tracking prompt in section 7. No is a complete answer to either: nothing in the calculator works differently afterwards
  • Nothing you type is measured. No dimension, calculation, tape line, project name, client name or exported file is sent anywhere, by any code path, ever
  • Nothing we receive is tied to you. The analytics identifier is generated by your device, is never joined to a name, an email or an account — there are none — and goes when you uninstall. What Meta receives for Sawline with your advertising identifier is different: Meta can connect that to its own records, which is exactly what the tracking prompt and the app's own question ask your permission for
  • Nothing about you is sold, at any price, under any definition. Sawline's install and purchase events do count as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and they are the only thing that does: answering No to the iOS tracking prompt, deleting the advertising ID in Android's settings, or on a phone set to European time switching off Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ Ad measurement, stops it. Section 10 covers what else you can ask us for
  • No profiling and no automated decision-making
  • No location collection. The app never asks for your location
  • No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files outside its own storage

6. Third parties

These are all of them. There are no others.

Party Role Their policy
Apple App distribution and payment processing on iOS and iPadOS apple.com/legal/privacy
Google App distribution and payment processing on Android. Also Firebase — Google Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring, and in Sawline Cloud Messaging for notifications — inside the app, listed field by field in section 4. Separately again, Google Analytics runs on this website, described in section 8. The three are different products and share no identifier with each other policies.google.com/privacy
RevenueCat Our purchase-management provider. Acts as our processor to verify receipts and keep your unlock working across reinstalls and devices. For Sawline it also sends the purchase events in section 4 on to Meta revenuecat.com/privacy
Meta Sawline only, from version 1.2.2. Receives the install and purchase events in section 4, so that we can tell which Facebook and Instagram ads are worth paying for, and uses them to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. It receives no calculations, no account — there is none — and nothing you typed facebook.com/privacy/policy

We confirm that each of them receives only what this policy describes for it, and gives that data the same or equal protection as this policy does.

If you choose to send us a support email, that email is handled by our email provider and we keep it only as long as it takes to resolve your question. See section 11.

7. Permissions

Two on Android in both apps, and two more in Sawline on each platform: one for the advertising measurement and one for the notifications, both in section 4. That is the whole list. Neither app asks for camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or storage, and RawMath asks for nothing at all on iOS.

Permission Platform What it is for
Internet Android Purchase and restore, the usage and crash reporting in section 4, and in Sawline the advertising measurement. The calculator itself never needs it, and the app is fully usable in airplane mode
Vibrate Android Key press feedback, which you can switch off in settings
Tracking iOS, Sawline Asked once, after the welcome screen and a short note from the app, never on top of either. On a phone set to European time it is asked only after a yes to the app's own question. Yes lets the measurement in section 4 carry your device's advertising identifier to Meta; No withholds it and iOS blocks the connection, and on a phone set to European time No means nothing is sent to Meta at all. Either answer leaves the calculator exactly as it is, and you can change it later under Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking
Advertising ID Android, Sawline A declaration in the build that lets the app read the advertising ID Android already keeps for you; your phone's settings, under Ads, is where you reset or delete it. On a phone set to European time the app also asks before any of it is sent, and Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ Ad measurement changes your answer
Notifications iOS, and Android 13 and later, Sawline Asked once, after an answer on the calculator, and only if you tap Allow notifications on the app's own question first. It lets the notifications in section 4 appear. Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ News from Sawline or your phone's settings turn them off

Some Android calculators of this kind also request permission to modify system settings, to display over other apps, or to read and write your device storage. Neither of ours requests any of the three. It dims its own window rather than the system brightness, and exported files are written inside the app's own storage and handed straight to the share sheet, so none of those permissions is needed. They are explicitly blocked in the build rather than left to arrive on their own from a library.

8. This website

This section is about the website, and what follows is the whole of it. What the apps send is in section 4 and is not repeated here: the site and the apps are separate pieces of software and share no code, so nothing described below reaches the app on your phone.

We use Google Analytics to count visits, to see which of the four calculators people actually use, whether they reach an answer or give up part way through, and whether they go on to the App Store or Google Play afterwards. That is the entire purpose: working out which of these tools is worth building on. It sets a cookie in your browser so that a second visit is not counted as a stranger.

Nothing you type into a calculator is ever sent. Not a measurement, not a pitch, not a room dimension, not a total. The calculators run in your browser exactly as they did before. What gets recorded is that a calculation happened, on which calculator, and whether it produced an answer. Never the numbers involved.

Google Signals and advertising personalisation are switched off — here, and on the separate Analytics property the app reports to. Nothing either of them measures is joined to an advertising profile or used to target you anywhere. We do not sell it and we do not share it.

In the United Kingdom and the European Union, none of it loads until you say so. The tag is not fetched, no cookie is set and no request reaches Google unless you press Allow on the banner. Press No thanks and nothing runs. The same is true anywhere in the world if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, which we honour without asking.

The fonts are still served from this domain rather than from a font network, so reading this page does not tell a font host that you did.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server access logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string — which are used for security and to keep the site running, and are discarded on the provider's own rolling schedule. We do not combine them with anything else, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.

9. Children

Both apps are professional tools for the building trades. They are rated 4+ and contain nothing unsuitable, but it is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the UK and EEA). Neither app asks for a name, an email or an account. Sawline's advertising measurement does use a device's advertising identifier, which the law in some places treats as personal information. If you believe it has been sent from a child's device, resetting or deleting that device's advertising identifier ends its link to anything sent before, and we will help you do it if you write to us.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live you have rights over your personal information — to access it, correct it, delete it, port it, object to its processing, or withdraw consent. We are happy to honour all of them, and in almost every case the honest answer is that we hold nothing to act on.

If you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland

Our lawful basis for the purchase processing in section 4 is the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)): you asked to buy the unlock, and it cannot be delivered or restored without it. For Sawline's advertising measurement it is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given to the question the app asks and, on iOS, to the tracking prompt after it. On a phone set to European time nothing is sent to Meta without it, and you can withdraw it at any time under Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ Ad measurement, or on iOS under Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking. For collecting these events and sending them to Meta, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers under Meta's Controller Addendum; what Meta does with them afterwards is Meta's alone, and you can exercise your rights over it with Meta directly. For registering Sawline for notifications it is our legitimate interest in telling the people who use it what is new (Article 6(1)(f)); switching off Sawline ▸ Settings ▸ News from Sawline is how you object. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

If you are in California

We do not sell personal information, and we have not in the preceding twelve months. Sawline's install and purchase events do count as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as the CCPA as amended by the CPRA defines it. That sharing began with version 1.2.2 and is the only sharing either app does. You can stop it: answer No to the iOS tracking prompt or switch it off under Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking, or reset or delete your advertising ID on Android. Either way your device's advertising identifier is withheld, and what is left is an install counted against an anonymous ID the kit generates for that install. Exercising any of your rights will never result in worse service or a different price.

Data we hold outside your device

Purchase records held by our purchase-management provider are keyed to an anonymous identifier. If you want them deleted, email us from any address with the approximate date and store of your purchase and we will locate and delete the record. Deleting it will end our ability to restore your unlock automatically, so we will say so before we do it.

Sawline's advertising events are held by Meta, not by us, and we cannot look them up: they carry an advertising identifier and an anonymous install ID, never a name. Resetting or deleting your device's advertising identifier ends the link between you and anything sent before. What Meta holds is covered by Meta's own privacy policy and tools.

International transfers

Our purchase-management provider processes data in the United States. Where that involves a transfer out of the UK or EEA, it takes place under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum. Google, for the usage and crash reporting, and Meta, for Sawline's advertising measurement, also process data in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.

11. Retention & deletion

  • On your device: kept until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all of it. We have no copy, so nothing survives on our side and there is nothing to request.
  • Purchase records: kept for as long as the unlock is restorable, plus whatever period Apple, Google or tax law requires. These are anonymous.
  • Usage data: held by Google Analytics for 14 months from your last activity, then deleted automatically. It is anonymous and aggregate; there is no name to look it up by.
  • Crash reports: held by Crashlytics for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Advertising events, Sawline only: held by Meta under the retention rules in its own privacy policy. We keep no copy.
  • Push token, Sawline only: stops working when you uninstall the app, and Firebase discards it after it has gone unused.
  • Support emails: kept while we resolve your question and for up to 12 months afterwards, so that a follow-up has context, then deleted.

12. Security

The strongest security measure here is structural: data that is never collected cannot be breached, and there is no central store of user data to attack. On your device, the app's storage is protected by the operating system's own app sandbox and by device encryption. Everything the app sends over the network, whether a purchase, usage and crash reporting or Sawline's advertising measurement, is encrypted in transit with TLS. This site is served over HTTPS only.

No system is perfect. If you find a security problem, please tell us at sawline@ripeseed.io before disclosing it publicly, and we will work with you.

13. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top and raise the version number. If a change is material — if we ever begin collecting something we do not collect today — we will say so prominently in the app before the change takes effect, and the previous version will remain available on request. We will not apply a materially different policy to information already collected without telling you.

14. Contact

Email sawline@ripeseed.io or support@ripeseed.io with anything at all about this policy — including a request to exercise any right above. We answer privacy mail within 30 days, and usually within a few working days.
